Urban patterns

A lot of patterns that exist in everyday life go ignored. Something that’s repetitive and happens over and over again tends to get ignored in our minds. As someone who grew up in a dense urban environment, the visual intrigue of urban landscapes tends to get drowned out of my perception. By representing visual structure through movement, the chaotic web of architecture comes to the forefront.

The outputs definitely took me by surprise. With frame difference version of the image showing the repetitiveness of the bridge pattern. For the slit-scan video I felt that although the outcome was somewhat expected the final image was a great representation of how it feels to walk across the bridge. I thinking being able to go out and gather my own input and start the idea end to end has given me good insight on how I can play around with patterns and how to capture them in a visually interesting way.
